Mediterranean Institute of marine and terrestrial Biodiversity and Ecology

IMBE studies biological systems on land and in the ocean, with a particular interest in biodiversity and the functioning of ecosystems. The main goal is to improve the conservation and the management of natural resources in the light of global change.

The IMBE partners are interested by biodiversity, its origins, evolution and persistence. We analyse the impact of global processes (climate change, land use change, human impacts, etc...) on biodiversity and ecosystem services.

Our challenge is to associate in our research different measure of diversity in an evolutionary perspective to discriminate historical, biological and ecological factors that cause the changes in biodiversity.
