Ecological engineering
Different strategies of ecological engineering are set to evaluate :
- The variability of symbiotic efficiency regarding carob genetic diversity
- The symbiotic performance of carob mycorrhiza and bacterial endophytes on cultures (cereals, legumes) and plant covers associated with carob in agroecosystems
-
The fungus Rhizophagus irregularis is used to evaluate the mycorrhizal dependency of carob regarding its genetic diversity and water regimes
-
Bacterial endophytes and PGPR effects
A collection of bacterial endophytes isolated from carob roots are evaluated for their beneficial effects on the growth of a range of crops and forage species known to be associated to carob trees in agroecosystems.
