Staff movements in DYNAMIC

Welcome to Alexandre Geoffroy (AMU) in the DYNAMIC consortium

Alexandre Geoffroy has been recruited as research engineer at IMBE (IDEA team) in March 2018. After his PhD on genetic diversity and species delimitation of marine alga, Alexandre came back to his first love, the mycorrhizal fungi. During his postdoctoral positions  (partnership with the Caraib University, CNRS, Cirad), he developed his expertise on the ecology of mycorrhizal fungi in Tropical and Mediterranean agroforestry systems (Pterocarpus-taro; truffle oaks-lavender), through the use of traditional approaches to characterise mycorrhizal traits, as well as high-throughput meta-barcoding approaches to unravel the complexity of soil microbial communities.

In DYNAMIC, he will be in charge of setting up experiments in controlled environment to test the impact of biotic and abiotic factors on carob growth, and to monitor microbial/mycorrhizal traits of interest (Task 6).
